Small Business Marketing
Google Ads Management for Small Businesses
Google Ads buys the customers searching for you right now. We manage the spend like it’s our own and report in leads, not platform scores.
What our clients say
Trusted by small businesses
What does Google Ads management include month to month?
After launch, real management means a weekly search-term review with fresh negative keywords, bids and budget steered toward the campaigns that book jobs, geography trimmed to where your customers live, ongoing ad and landing page tests, and a monthly report that counts leads and cost per lead. An account left to run itself drifts toward waste within weeks.
You’re buying intent that already exists
Somebody in your service area is searching for what you sell right now. Google Ads lets you buy a spot in front of that person today, which makes it the speed channel: a sound campaign can produce calls in its first week. The trade is that you pay for every visitor, every time; when the budget stops, so do the calls. That’s why most of our plans pair it with SEO, the compounding channel. Ads carry the calendar while rankings grow, then the mix shifts.
One honest limit: ads can’t create demand. If nobody is searching for your offer yet, the feed is the better hunting ground, and that’s Meta ads territory. We’ll tell you which side of that line your business sits on before anything spends, because plenty of agencies will happily take a budget the channel can never repay, and saying no early is cheaper for everyone.
The four leaks that drain small accounts
When we audit a struggling account, the money is usually leaving through one of these:
| The leak | How it looks in the account | What we do about it |
|---|---|---|
| Broad match left on. | Your plumbing budget buys searches about jobs, courses and DIY videos. | Tighter match types, with reach earned deliberately instead of leaked. |
| Sloppy geography. | Clicks arriving from towns you’d never drive to. | Radius and town targeting matched to your real service area. |
| No negative keywords. | The same junk searches billed to you week after week. | A negative list that grows every week from day one. |
| A weak landing page. | Plenty of clicks, few calls, cost per lead creeping up. | Pages built to convert, covered under web design. |
None of these leaks announces itself. The account keeps spending, the dashboard keeps reporting activity, and the waste hides inside averages. Finding it takes a person reading the search terms line by line, which is tedious work no automated script replaces. It’s also the fastest raise most accounts ever get.
Local Services Ads: the green badge above everything
For many trades, Google sells a second product above the regular ads: Local Services Ads, where you pay per lead instead of per click and carry a Google Guaranteed badge after a background check. When your category qualifies, LSAs are often the first thing we turn on, because paying for a phone call beats paying for a visit, and the badge borrows Google’s credibility at the exact moment a homeowner is picking a stranger off the internet. They bring their own chores, though: disputing junk leads so you aren’t billed for wrong numbers, keeping reviews flowing since review volume drives placement, and balancing the LSA budget against search campaigns so the two don’t compete for the same customer. We run both sides and let the booked-job numbers decide the split.
Tracking is the other half of honest management. Before a campaign spends anything, calls get tracking numbers, forms get tagged, and booked jobs get tied back to the exact search that produced them. Platform dashboards will happily celebrate clicks and impressions; your report counts conversations and signed work, because a click never paid an invoice.
What you should see from us every month
Hold any ads manager, us included, to this list:
- A search-term report you can actually read: the exact phrases that spent your money and what we cut.
- Bid and budget moves explained in a sentence each, tied to booked leads.
- Tests in motion: at least one ad or landing page variation under trial at any given time.
- A plain-English report: leads, cost per lead, and what changes next month.
No lock-in means the report has to justify the retainer every single month, and that pressure is healthy. Accounts rot when nobody expects to be questioned; a surprising number of owners come to us after discovering their old campaign had not been touched in months. Frequently asked questions
My last campaign spent plenty and the phone stayed quiet. What went wrong?
Usually a stack of the classic leaks: broad match, no negatives, and clicks sent to a homepage that can’t convert them. Before restarting spend, we audit the old account, keep whatever data is useful and fix the plumbing first. Budget was rarely the real problem.
Whose Google Ads account is it?
Yours. We build and manage inside your own account, so the history, the conversion data and the control stay with you if we ever part ways. Leaving an agency shouldn’t mean starting your ad history from zero.
Should I run Local Services Ads or regular search ads?
If your trade qualifies for LSAs, usually both, with LSAs first in line. They charge per lead and sit highest on the page, but the inventory is limited, so search campaigns fill the gaps and own the searches LSAs can’t reach.
How fast can we start, and how fast can we stop?
Launch typically lands within the first couple of weeks, sooner when tracking and landing pages are already sound. Pausing takes minutes, and month to month means stopping is a conversation, never a contract dispute.
What do negative keywords actually do?
They tell Google which searches must never trigger your ad: free, jobs, DIY, towns you don’t serve. Every account bleeds without them because Google errs toward spending. Our weekly search-term review exists mostly to keep that list growing.
