Small Business Marketing
Google Ads for Flooring Companies
Flooring buyers search the material, not the store. We build your Google Ads around hardwood, vinyl plank, tile and refinishing terms, then aim every click at a booked measure visit.
What our clients say
Trusted by small businesses
Do Google Ads pay off for a flooring company?
They pay off when the account is shaped the way floors actually get bought. People type a material: hardwood installation, luxury vinyl plank, tile, or they type refinishing. Each of those gets its own campaign, its own landing page and its own service area, drawn around your showroom or your crews. Every click has one job, a booked in-home measure, because that’s the visit where flooring sells.
Nobody types “flooring store” into Google. They type the floor they want.
Watch real search data for a week and you’ll see it: hardwood installation, vinyl plank installers, tile for a bathroom, carpet for the stairs. The material comes first, and the person typing each one is a different buyer with a different budget. A single campaign called Flooring treats them all as one crowd, and Google will happily spend your money that way.
We split the account by material instead. Hardwood shoppers see hardwood ads and land on a hardwood page. Vinyl plank shoppers see vinyl plank proof. Your bids follow your margins, so the materials that earn you the most get the most aggressive spend. It’s a simple move that most flooring accounts we audit have never made.
Refinishing deserves a special mention. In markets full of older housing stock it’s an evergreen search with a healthy ticket, and far fewer companies bid on it than on installation terms. If you offer it, it probably belongs near the top of your paid plan.
Match the campaign to the buyer behind the keyword
Here’s how the main flooring keyword families behave once clicks start coming in, and what each landing page has to do with them.
| Keyword family | Who’s typing it | What the click needs |
|---|---|---|
| Hardwood installation | A considered buyer comparing species, finishes and installers | Room galleries and a clear path to a measure visit |
| Vinyl plank and laminate | A value-focused buyer who decides fast | A quick quote form and straight answers on what’s included |
| Hardwood refinishing | A homeowner who already owns the floor | Before-and-after photos and a same-week estimate |
| Carpet | A room-at-a-time shopper, often price-led | A simple per-room estimate request |
Financing cuts across all four. Flooring sits at a ticket size where plenty of searchers are quietly wondering if they can spread the cost out. Saying financing is available, in the ad copy and again on the page, answers that question before it blocks the call.
Where flooring ad budgets leak, and how we plug the holes
Most of the waste in a flooring account is predictable, so we close it off before scaling anything:
- Geography drawn around your real territory: a radius for showroom traffic, crew territory if you install mobile
- Negative keywords for DIY searches, rentals, how-to questions and big-box brand shoppers
- Call and form tracking tied to measure visits, so we optimize toward appointments instead of raw clicks
- Bids weighted by material margin, not by whatever Google’s automation feels like doing
- Search terms pruned weekly, because junk queries never stop arriving
This page covers the paid side only. Your rankings and your map listing are separate projects with their own pages: SEO for flooring companies and local SEO for flooring companies. If you’d rather talk it through, book a free discovery call and we’ll scope a package to your market.
A showroom buys a radius. A mobile crew buys a territory.
If customers come to you, the real product of your ads is a store visit. We draw the map by drive time, feed Google your hours and directions, and let location assets put the address right in the ad, because someone comparing samples this weekend shouldn’t have to dig for where you are. Bids climb close to the showroom, where stopping by is easy, and taper at the edges where it’s a maybe.
Installers without a storefront flip that logic. There’s no door to walk through, so the map gets drawn town by town around where installs are worth the drive, and the ad promises what a store can’t: we come to you, samples in hand. The quote form carries more weight here, since the measure visit becomes the first in-person moment of the whole relationship.
Timing gets one nudge too. Flooring demand lifts ahead of the holidays, when people want new floors down before family arrives, and again in late winter when tax-season projects kick off. We lean budget into those stretches instead of spreading it flat across twelve months. Either way, you’ll see the split plainly in the reporting: which towns produce measure visits, which produce tire-kickers, and where your next dollar should go.

Frequently asked questions
Should my flooring ads just point at the homepage?
No. A hardwood click should land on a hardwood page with hardwood photos and one obvious next step. Sending every material to the homepage makes people hunt for what they searched, and most won’t bother. Matched landing pages also raise your ad quality, which lowers what each click costs you.
Is refinishing really worth its own campaign?
Usually, yes. Refinishing searches carry strong intent, the ticket is solid, and fewer installers compete for them than for new-install terms. If your market has older homes, it’s often the best-performing campaign in the whole account.
We run a showroom. How far out should the ads reach?
Only as far as people will realistically drive to see samples, and no further. We’d rather show your ad twenty times inside that radius than once across three counties. Mobile crews get a different map, drawn around where installs are profitable.
Can my ads mention financing without quoting rates?
Yes, and they should. “Financing available” in the ad copy pre-answers the affordability worry that stalls flooring buyers. We keep the wording inside Google’s rules and leave the specific terms for your estimator to cover in person.
What do you actually count as a result?
Booked measure visits, tracked through calls and forms. Clicks and impressions tell us the machinery is running, but you don’t sell floors from a click. We report what hit the calendar and what it cost to get there.
