Facebook Ads for Dental Practices
Search fills the hygiene schedule. The feed is where implant and aligner cases begin. We run Meta campaigns for practices chasing the second kind of growth.
What our clients say
Trusted by small businesses
Should a dental practice bother with Facebook and Instagram ads?
For the high-value side of the book, yes. Families pick an everyday dentist through search, the map and insurance lists, but implants, aligners and veneers are slow, considered decisions that start with awareness, and awareness forms in the feed. We run compliant cosmetic campaigns there and leave the new-patient engine on search, where it already works.
The hygiene patient and the implant patient shop nowhere near each other
| The family side | The cosmetic side | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it starts | A search for a dentist taking new patients | A smile noticed in a mirror, a photo, a feed |
| What wins it | Local SEO, reviews and the insurance list | Awareness video and a consult path on Meta |
| Decision speed | Days, often the same week | Weeks to months of private deliberation |
| Meta’s role | Light brand presence at most | The primary channel, start to finish |
Most practices fund one machine and expect it to do both jobs. It can’t. The table is the plan: two funnels, two budgets, each measured on its own terms.
Writing smile ads that Meta won’t reject
Dental creative lives inside real policy constraints, and ignoring them gets accounts restricted. Copy can’t suggest the viewer has crooked teeth, missing teeth or any condition at all; ads for cosmetic procedures have to target adults; and certain before-and-after framings get flagged as promoting negative self-perception. Plenty of practices learn this through rejected campaigns and frozen ad accounts.
The compliant version happens to be the persuasive version anyway. A patient telling their own story forward, a dentist explaining what an aligner consult involves, warm footage of the actual operatory: these pass review and they presell the consult better than a shock-value grid of teeth ever did. We’ve built this creative inside the rules since the rules were looser, and we keep your account’s history clean, which protects every future campaign you’ll run.
An implant case is won or lost at the front desk
Here’s the uncomfortable truth about dental advertising: the campaign usually dies on the phone. A cosmetic lead calls once, gets voicemail or a “we can see you next month,” and the months of consideration your ads nurtured convert at a competitor who answered. Before we scale spend, we look at answer rates, same-week consult availability and who calls the web leads back, because fixing a front desk is cheaper than doubling a budget.
The long decision window also means retargeting earns its keep here more than in almost any trade we serve. Someone who watched your aligner video twice is thinking about it; staying usefully present while they finance and decide is the campaign’s quiet second half. How this meshes with the rest of your growth plan lives on our dental marketing page, search spend included through Google Ads for dental practices, and a free 20-minute call will tell you which funnel deserves your next dollar of attention.
The mail-order aligner wars already trained your patients
For years, direct-to-consumer aligner brands flooded these exact feeds, teaching millions of people that a straighter smile is something you can decide to buy while lying on the couch. Several of the loudest names have since stumbled or shut their doors, but the education they paid for didn’t leave with them. Your market is now full of adults who want aligner treatment and learned about it on Instagram. They’re also warier than ever about who to trust with it.
A local practice walks into that opening holding everything the mail-order model lacked: a doctor who examines the mouth, imaging before anything moves, and accountability that lives ten minutes away. Feed creative built on that contrast, supervised treatment versus a box in the mail, doesn’t need to shout. It needs to be present, credible and local, in the same scroll where the demand was originally created.
The implant side has its own version of this story. Corporate “new smile fast” chains spend heavily on paid social in most metros. Plenty of patients leave those consults uneasy and wanting a second opinion. You don’t have to outspend a chain to collect those patients; you have to be visible to a tight radius with the quieter pitch of one practice, one doctor, the whole case through. In our experience that message holds its own against any national budget, precisely because it can’t be franchised.

Frequently asked questions
Can we use before-and-after smile photos in our ads?
Carefully. Meta restricts cosmetic before-and-afters that imply unrealistic outcomes or shame the “before,” and reviewers err on the side of rejection. We lean on patient stories and forward-looking creative, which pass cleanly and convert as well or better.
Which treatments are worth a paid social budget?
The ones with consideration windows: implants, aligners, veneers, whitening as a gateway. High value, slow decisions, visual outcomes. Cleanings and emergencies belong to search, where the intent already exists.
Why not use Meta to fill general new-patient slots too?
You can, but it’s the expensive route to a patient that local search delivers more cheaply. We’d rather your feed budget work on cases only the feed can create.
What happens with leads who aren’t ready to book a consult?
They’re the majority, and they’re not wasted. Watchers and clickers go into retargeting audiences that keep the practice familiar for months, so when readiness arrives, the shortlist is one name long.
What should our front desk change when campaigns go live?
Treat ad leads like referrals, not interruptions: answer fast, offer a consult this week, and log every call. We’ll tell you the moment call handling, not the campaign, is the bottleneck, because the data makes it obvious.
Does any of this add work for the clinical team?
Very little. The hygiene book stays fed by search. The feed works only on cases you chose to grow. You set the pace, we bring the demand, and your front desk gets scripts instead of surprises. Start small, read the consult numbers, then scale what pays.
